Sick

Ugh. Ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh. I don’t think it’s allergies after all, because I feel like ASS.  I slept horribly last night, not being able to breathe, etc and woke up and took more advil sinus, which has improved my nasal passages and such. Of course, now I’m hot and feverish, but FUCK IT, we’re going to the lake anyway.  My folks are on the island, so it’ll be just us, and even if I DON’T go in the lake (but I bet it would feel good to my achy yucky body) they have DirecTV so we can veg out in style.  Plus, Dave drives, so I can zone out and/or sleep on the way up.

It’s that time of year when you have to grab hold of EVERY MINUTE of summer because you know it’s going to end really damn soon.  Of course, it’s also the time of year when summer gets kind of tiring, and you look forward to winter and holing up in the house with hot tea and a good book.  As much as I hate the seasons sometimes, I love the cycles of anticipation each one affords. With anticipation also comes regret, but this summer has been pretty damn good. I would’ve liked to have Written more (real writing, not this stuff) and spent more time at the lake (but then, spending time at the lake means being away from the husband, and it’s been nice having lunch with him each day) and lost like, 30 pounds (but I have lost about 15) and at least I have something to look forward to (and fear!) in grad school.

I’m still pissed that they didn’t just wait to email me on Monday, though. The iBook is here! So close! and yet, so far.  Monday will come soon enough, especially if I continue to live in this sinusy fog. Can’t freakin’ wait.
