Layover

Going to the Island was so wonderful. It was foggier ‘n hell, and we made our way back via GPS, and by the time we got to the landing, I was soaked through with saltwater, head to knee, where my black rubber boots start. Dave stayed inland, and finished the guest room (YAY!) which is BEEYOOTIFUL. The color is perfect. I have to hand it to Sherwin Williams, their paint is great, they now have the twist-off lid plastic paint containers, and a little 1.5 inche square color chip has been a perfect match, both times. The guest room/office will also be a sort of shrine to Crumple Island, where I’ll frame some of my photos from there, and put my various jars of shells and seaglass around, and display other Island accoutrements.

I bought a bed last week, that will be delivered on Saturday, and got some great bedding at KMart, of all places. I need to pick up a down blanket from Target, but they have been out of the blue full size every time I’ve gone. Oh well. ANYWAY, I now am on the verge of a killer guest room, if only I had guests!

But, I’ve not been home for 12 hours yet, and I have to leave at 6 fucking 30 am tomorrow to go to a math curriculum training, in Augusta (Disgusta, if you’re from Maine, for good reasons) for four freakin’ days. Where I will be sharing a hotel room for three nights. Ugh. I mean, it’s my coteacher, who is great, but I miss my husband! I want to be with HIM! In our great big comfy new bed! ARGH.

Also, I want my glasses to arrive, and they won’t be here from probably another week. AND, I want to know what I should do about my car. It’s starting to freak me out that I don’t have a shoulder belt, even though I’ve probably driven 50,000 miles without one at this point. But now that I’m working on CREATING life, it seems wrong to be so apathetic about MAINTAINING mine.

But I don’t WANT a car payment! ARGH.

ALright, I have to get my shit packed for Math Camp ’04. UGH. UGH UGH UGH.
